MAME is an arcade system emulator that can be used as a libretro core. This core corresponds to MAME 0.174 of the standalone MAME emulator and requires MAME 0.174 ROM sets. See also: MAME 2000, MAME 2003, MAME 2010, MAME 2014, and MAME.
MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator and attempts to reproduce that game as faithfully as possible on a more modern general-purpose computer. MAME can currently emulate several thousand different classic arcade video games from the late 1970s through the modern era.
These are libretro features, not frontend or standalone emulator features.
